Selat

Terms of Service

Last updated: draft — not yet published

This is a generic placeholder drafted to unblock development and app-store submission requirements — it is not legal advice. Have a qualified lawyer review and finalize this document before Selat is genuinely available to the public.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating a Selat account or using the Selat app or website (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Selat is

Selat is a private family-networking app. Accounts, family circles, and content you share are visible only to the people you connect with — family members, relatives, and friends you add or approve — not to the public.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for activity under it. You must be at least 13 years old to create your own account. A parent or guardian may add a younger family member to their own family circle as a profile they manage, without that child creating or controlling an account themselves.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the photos, posts, messages, and other content you share. By posting content, you grant Selat a limited license to store and display it to the audience you choose, solely to operate the Service. You're responsible for content you share and must not post anything unlawful, abusive, or infringing on others' rights.

5. Family-sharing visibility

Content shared with a family circle, relatives, or friends is visible to everyone in that audience, per your own sharing choices in the app. Removing a connection or leaving a family circle stops future sharing but does not retroactively un-share what was already visible.

6. Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Your personal profile information is permanently removed. Content you solely authored (your posts, stories, events, list items) is deleted; shared content other people rely on (like messages in a group chat, or comments on someone else's post) is kept so it isn't corrupted for the rest of the family, but is no longer attributed to you.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or misuse the Service, including abusive registration activity or attempts to access another family's data without authorization.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Selat is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to the app's support contact (to be added).
